Illuminated guider. I used it with fillar micrometer.
correct. Now I always wondered how long one had to sit to take a picture with this using an F15 scope.

Yes, especially considering it would have most likely been with conventional film. Even Tri-X would have been comparatively slow measured agains modern CCDs.

can't imagine imaging a galaxy or other deep space object. Maybe a planet. However, over all the years I have only see a handful of pics taken by a unitron.

I've never seen a DSO image made by that 220 camera (is that the right number?)

I have taken quite a few pictures with my Unitron 142, 155, and 510 in their stock configuration using modern cameras and techniques. I can’t imagine ever imagining a deepsky object using the 220 camera. The sun, moon, and planets yes, deepsky objects, no.

Can we stick to Unitrons?

Also, show us your Meade 440 family scope!

Me at the controls of the Model 620, 6 inch Equatorial, at Rafes Urban Astronomy Center, Denton, Texas. Belongs to the University of North Texas.

awesome picture Dave. The 4" guide scope is a nice feature.

That 620 looks amazing. I love your accounts of visiting various 6” Unitrons. Seeing these wonderful scopes is one thing, getting eyepiece time is another. Wonderful!

I corrected the 4" objective for my friend Peter Serrada...some objectives were pretty bad...and he wanted to give me 25% of the sale price.
He never did sell it and then passed away last year. His wife knew that he "owed" me, so offered me some cash or...since she was finding homes for his collections....offered me the whole scope. Oh yeah!
Then later when our club removed his C-11 from his dome, a box of miscellaneous stuff was given to me...which consisted of a 152 drive, weight and rings, 220 camera, 60mm scope mount piggyback rings, loaded Super Unihex, Herschel wedge, and much more.
No recent pics, but you get the idea...nice scope...we set it up for star parties and/or multi-night weather opportunities. I just machined a 2" adapter to fit the Superfocuser.

That analemma photo is a classic in its own right. I remember Sky Publishing had a series of posters including that back in the early 1980s.

1980 Polarex/Unitron 75/1200mm refractor on Unitron equatorial and wooden tripod. Guess I was lucky to find this, as these are rare on my side of the pond. Bought it 10 years ago from a belgian Unitron affectionado, complete with 8x30 finder, Unihex, Unitron set of 6 eyepieces, star diagonal, solar projection set, porro prism, Uniclamp, instruction manual, wooden storage box. Assembling the scope for first light, I still remember my amazement when I saw subtle Mars surface structures and the polar caps in amazing detail.

1959 Unitron 140
I would pay well that also. I only had the 3" RFT version. Never seen a 3" normal U in FL.

I bought a couple of 142 out of FL and had them shipped to me. Great scopes.

Never seen one for sale here within 50 miles of me or any U for that matter.
