Some notes about Nightfall 2024:
As of yesterday, the Palm Canyon says it had one Airstream and one RV site available for November 1-3 star party.
Of course, people may attend Nightfall even if they are staying at the state park half a mile away, any of the local hotels and RV parks, or any B&B's in Borrego Springs.
Saturday's Premium AstroImaging Workshop with Molly Wakeling of The Astro Imaging Channel still has room, but people should register for that soon.
As usual, we have some good (free) presentations from various volunteers.
And we are looking for a few more presenters to fill the weekend. (You can volunteer by messaging me here on Cloudy Nights.)
We will have all the activities (ice cream social, star-be-cue, reception, night sky tours, imaging the monsters in the desert, and sitting around the pools). Don't know about the organized Scorpion Hunt. The scorpions did not seem to come out last year in the relative cold of a late fall star party!!!--You could of course go hunting on your own.......)
And, of course there is all that astronomy stuff like looking through or taking pictures with your telescopes.
We will have more information about the schedule as we get closer.
Here is the website: https://nightfallstarparty.com/
Just wanted you to know that we are almost full with on-site accommodations, but you are welcome to come to the star party even if you do not grab the last available.
