Here's a fun one that everyone sees typically in narrowband. But in broadband you'll see it's not only is it covered in dust but there's a couple of uncatalogued reflection nebula.

~40 hours LRGB with a TOA-130NFB and 645 flattener. ASI6200MM-Pro and Chroma filters.

Wonderful image! Love the dust and colors. Personally I prefer the "natural" look of these targets over narrowband and I've been doing more RGB instead of narrowband. I do wish I was in bortle 1 instead of 6/7 haha. I'll add this target to the list if the skies ever clear!

This is great! I imaged it a few years ago with the RASA and I was surprised by the amount of dust that is not normally captured.

The real question... is where can one go to get this much time on a target without clouds?  I haven't seen the sky in going on 2 weeks.

Absolutely lovely shot!  I hit this same thing last year with a few days straight on it and started to see what I thought was IFN or dark Nebula which I thought was cool.  It's wild how we can find new things if we just sit the scope in one section of the sky and take all the time in the world.

Gotta get a scope out to New Mexico. Though the monsoon season this year was terrible with two months of rain which is typically about half that. But good news is the rest of the year will likely be mostly clear every night. Crossing my fingers!

Bortle 1... bow.gif

It's really amazing the quantity of clouds and dust in this image. Stunning!
