Having read the this topic -->  https://www.cloudyni...i-150p-for-eaa/, It would seem that quite a few people have this scope.

So I decided to open a thread dedicated to DIY upgrades for Virtuoso GTI 150P.

Over the next few month's, I will be designing, printing, and uploading the stl files for the upgrades I make along the way, so as all here can use them as they see fit.

Also, please feel free to upload your own modifications that you think other could benefit from, or any ideas you may have.

I know from reading the above thread, that the focuser upgrades are of interest, so I will upload my focuser upgrade once done.

So really, anything that can make this little scope better, can be posted right here on this thread.

I believe that this little cheap goto scope could be transformed into a work of art, and an imaging beast.

Here is the first upgrade part i have designed and printed.

It took a few prints to get it exact, but here it is, and fits perfectly.

It is a cover for the bottom of the scope, to stop light leaks into the primary mirror.

following this topic!

how does the bottom cover attaches? does it snap on? or glued? I'm probably going to try this.

I've done the almost obligatory light shroud with the scopestuff stuff, it's probably a 30min job and works perfect

I've also painted black the edge of the secondary mirror, I don't know how much it helps, but couldn't hurt, with a sharpie it was a 5 min job

I did the same thing to the bottom of my focuser tube. I plan to do the mirror edge when it's able to be down a few days. Which is probably soon. Like you said it shouldn't hurt. Any improvement is better then none.

I just set up my scope on a dark colored tarp and keep the back open to help keep the mirror at ambient temperature.  I found that covering the bottom of the tube made no difference in contrast over just using a tarp, plus the tarp helps from kicking up dust, and how can the fan keep the mirror cool if you cover the bottom of the tube.  confused1.gif

It just clips in with 3 small detents on the inner ring.

They don't have a fan.
