I am building myself a second more portable small imaging rig, and it’s based around the superb Askar 71f flat field quadruplet scope, priced at $599, yes you read that right $599

Questions…. What mount are you thinking about using, specifically for a secondary or more portable setup. You mentioned the harmonic drive but that’s a little too pricey for me for what I would like to work on.

Yes I would like a harmonic,

I have just considered  the newer Skywatcher star adventurer GTI which has 5kg payload, and think I would get away with that, just, but not sure, also the little Ioptron HEM15 which is harmonic on the RA and Worm on the DEC, with 8kg payload with no counter weight and 12kg with one, it’s tiny, but looks perfect, but again it’s around £1150 here in the UK
