At one time, there were periodic star parties in Oak Park and in nearby places like Newbury Park (in SoCal).  Have these all been abandoned?  Just curious since I am nearby.

Due to the pandemic, a lot of regular star parties stopped being held.

Contact your local astronomy clubs. They probably hosted the star parties. in the past. Hopefully they are resuming doing them. Googling helps.

Actually, this was not the Ventura or LA Astromomy clubs which is why I am asking.  And, while it was a good suggestion, I did google this as well.  Some of the people involved are on CN and perhaps they can clarify.  From what I gather it was a fun get together.

Some of the smaller clubs don't have websites, but they do have FaceBook pages. If you use that social media, try searching there.
