I had the granddaughter for the weekend so I've been delayed in getting anything processed form the other morning (for a great reason!!).  Have a nice GRS pass tomorrow morning and a minor double transit on Saturn this evening so I've got to get this computer cleared off and ready for new data.

Seeing was below average to start and improved a bit towards morning.  Never really getting above average.  Collimation checked out ok for both my unprocessed Saturn images of the Tethys transit and these images for Jupiter and Mars.

First up Jupiter flanked by Ganymede on the left and Io on the right with Ganymede's shadow progressing across Jupiter's disk.  This is a 5-image derotation of 60s captures.

This is a 7-image derotation in the time just before the larger ROI above.

They are not awful and miraculously both appear to be about the same color palette!!

I didn't spend a lot of time of Mars yet. This data is not as good as the morning before but still it's Mars.

The image compares favorably with WinJuPOS graphic

Great results!  Is the polar ice presented in WinJupos meant to be accurate at any given time, or just "typical for the season"?

No I think it’s based upon imagery taken at the time the graphic was developed.

It does ebb and flow with the seasons, but it's really just a rough representation of the extent of polar ice and cloud.

Don, excellent image set, I especially like your Jupiter shots. The oblong shadow is my absolute favorite transit view. Impressive work as usual. Thanks for posting

Regards,

Steve
