.. Celestron [19mm] Luminous 2 inch with his Evolution. Will this produce a more accurate alignment with Starsense / SkyPortal?
No, it will not help with alignment.

Curious .... Whats the benefit of this larger eyepiece? Easier on the eyes during focus? Easier to quickly center a star?

If one has a large enough telescope -- 8" is the minimum, 9.25 and up is more appropriate, then one may be able to fit a 2" diagonal in place of the factory 1.25" diagonal. This then enables one to spend 2-3X as much $$$ on eyepiece purchases, gaining a slightly wider field of view (8"), or a much wider field of view (9.25" and up).
This makes it easier to view LARGE deep space objects (eg. Andromeda Galaxy), which don't normally fit into the field of view of 1.25" eyepieces. It also makes it easier to deal with less-precise go-to operations on some mounts, as the larger field of view means that things will almost always end up in view, even with incorrect alignment procedures.
These MUCH LARGER 2" diagonals and eyepieces are BIG, HEAVY (and EXPEN$IVE), so they really should be considered only for heavier-duty mounts, not things like the 6se/8se. But put the money into a GOOD/BETTER mount before wasting more of it on 2" stuff.
EDIT: For the 19mm size Celestron eyepiece pictured at the beginning of this thread, there's simply no need for 2" there. Televue make an excellent 17.3mm eyepiece with a 1.25" barrel. At least a few of those Celestron eyepieces have HUGE trim rings around them, to make them appear larger than the optics inside actually are.
