Hi,
What are those tiny screws for? to make rotator less stiff?

Those small screws usually three of them project into a groove. They allow you to rotate the focuser for optimum camera rotation. In addition to the small screws there will also be one much larger thumb screw. This locks the focuser when you are happy with the rotation. Adjustment of the three screws is critical. They have to be adjusted so that they allow the focuser to rotate but with no free play they also must be adjusted exactly the same so as not to push the rotating focuser off centre.
It’s quite hard to rotate so I thought about loosening them.
One night I had an issue where the camera would rotate despite the big thumb screw being fully screwed in,
no idea why. I did loosen the thumb screw and rotate the camera clockwise and for now it’s fine.

They are there to have a slight preset tension and are in a groove. With the big tightening screw loose the rotator should move with a slight resistance when turning by hand and once in position the big screw tightens it solid so no more rotation. The small screws should be equally tensioned just ever so slightly to allow hand rotation of the rotator with a bit of resistance.
