Hello solarobserver,

I hope that you were able to observe the beautiful dense filament on the western edge as it lifted off this morning.
Seeing was moderate but quite usable.

The complete evaluation of the material can take a while. I will also try to approximately determine the ascent speed in line of sight of certain nodes.

Hello,

Here is a picture from the later phase of the eruption. It would be interesting if the reaction of the dormant chromosphere with the falling gas masses could be made visible in the image. I took several pictures (unfortunately with poor seeing) of the right side of the eruption. Let's see if a reaction is revealed in a gif animation. I can't make out anything in the image.

these are really great,  what software do you use to process your final images and which app for stacking videos??

Hello,

thanks for your answers and likes.
This pictures was taken with Firecapture and flat. The stack was carry out with AS!4 und final processed with Astraimage LR deconvolution and deconvolution blur and CS5.

The pictures were very unsteady because the position of the sun is low at -8°. That's why I only stacked relatively few pictures. The structures changed so quickly that the videos were only 5 to 10 seconds long. At a fps of 110, that's about 550 to 1000 images. Only 80 of these were used. Despite these poor conditions, I use the instrument at full aperture because the brightness is high and the exposure time is short - exposure time 5 to 8ms, gain 100, gamma 50 (1). The impression on the screen is tremendous. In my opinion, there is nothing in observational astronomy as impressive as a large solar flare at the edge. I always think what a tremendous spectacle it must be to see the gas masses moving in real time 150 million kilometers away - it's magnificent. Here is another example from the early ascent phase.

Warren, groom, Larry,

thank you for your replys. I am in the process of working through the last two days with the beautiful motifs. If the weather gets worse, I'll take a closer look at October 14.
Yesterday I built an improved focusing system for the camera with the help of the Baader Steeltrack. Normally you don't have much space left after the telecentric and the etalons. So I built the camera in front of the focuseridea.gif  so that it sits behind the focal plane and not in front of it (I don't observe with eyepieces). It now works like a linear drive. It works excellently. There may still be room for the folding mirror to get a visual focus.
