Greetings Cloudy Nighters and Astro Nuts,

The 2025 Golden State Star Party is officially scheduled for June 25 - June 29 (four nights) at Frosty Acres Ranch in Adin, California.  And, yes we know that some other fine events are being held at the same time.  Fortunately, the universe is a large place.

Please visit our web site at https://goldenstatestarparty.org to keep up with announcements and registration.  We plan to open early registration in January.

We hope you enjoy your upcoming winter months and we'll see many of you next June.

Best regards,

The GSSP Organizing Committee

I plan to be there. Mt Diablo will miss out though. BTW, if you take your first name and attach it to Mike's last name... That's me wink.gif

This will directly conflict with OSP. Both committees have decided to get ahead of the heat and fire season next year. GSSP is a little closer and more convenient, but OSP is a little darker and a night longer. Hmmm... question.gif

Since both GSSP and OSP will be at the same time this year, how much longer with the night be at OSP?

OSP is north of GSSP, and the event is near the solstice.  GSSP will have more darkness time than OSP.

I've not worked out the exact difference, because I believe it'll be splitting hairs.

It's only going to take one cloudy night to throw the calculations out the window cloudy.gif

I wish I could be in two places at once, but I can't. I'll miss GSSP this year.
