Well, I had intermittent clouds, plus the mount I was using is not something that can hold on to the 8" F5 too long (EXOS 2GT pmc8)

I also wanted to test my new tiny micron camera - new from ZWO  the ASI715MC planetary camera.

I used a 2X barlow  from amazon (sbvony branded I think)

Took me a while to find Saturn, since I don't have a finder scope and my guider scope is not aligned with the main tube, since I was in a hurry to image before it got more cloudy.

It's not easy to find the Saturn with the tiny camera barlowed-even if the scope seem to be dead on pointing at it ! lol.gif

Anyway, I did a bunch of 2 minute videos , this one was over 13 gigabyte .ser file and turned out the best out of the rest.

best 45% of frames selected (autostakkert, then registrax)  camera was chugging around 58fps

I still lack processing skills, especially with annual breaks between my lessons.

If the Newtonian was on a driven mount, there's no reason for an optimally-sampled 2-minute video of Saturn & its rings to be 13 GB in size.  Use both the ROI and cutout features during capture. You can also extend the capture time to maybe 5 minutes, perhaps even 6.
