I wonder if these -

https://www.ebay.com/itm/146039504422 (Skyoptikst 90mm caliber 1000mm Maksutov-Cassegrain Multi Coated Optics Telescope)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/146018722654 (Skyoptikst 80mm caliber 900mm Maksutov-Cassegrain Multi Coated Optics Telescope)

are good scopes.

They look like.. generic little Maks, and their photos could be CGI as well.

Internet doesn't seem to know anything about them - no reviews, no pictures. Nothing.

I wonder if anyone ever dealt with them.

Run! Do not walk away! Very questionable quality.

As long as used Meade ETX90s can be had in field scope versions for around $100-$130 used, no real point in experimenting, unless someone is curious.

Well, yes. The chance that they're actually OK is there, but I'm certainly not the one to try finding that out.

I was hoping someone was curious and rich enough to have risked throwing out 150 dollars. Probably no such luck for me grin.gif

BTW, how would you rate Meade ETX-90 compared to Celestron C90, both in spotting scope configuration, and disregarding the mount / tripod, just the OTA, the diagonal, and all that jazz?

Both ETX-90 and C90 (model 52265) are available with a flip-mirror back, are there any caveats to that arrangement, compared to the simpler models (C90 model 52268 for example)?

I can't compare the ETX-90 to the C90, but I can say that both the ETX-90's I've had gave excellent views. Very crisp with good seeing.

ETX's are better.  The C90 was really a camera lens masquerading as a telescope.
