Been a long year getting gremlins out of my custom 12" reflector, but I think I have finally arrived at a solid platform. I have been wanting to upgrade the main camera to newer tech. So over the last few months I have been looking at all the offerings, reviews, and talk here. I knew the IMX571 was the chip I wanted (and the budget could allow). I finally decided on the OGMA version. The price was right, support was US based, and images taken with it were on the same level as QHY/ZWO/etc. Overall I am really happy with the choice. Data is super clean and paired with my 12"/4.6, it looks to be able to go deep. I am oversampled at .56" where my seeing is typically in the 1.8-2.2 range (measured with a seeing monitor).

So to test all this out I went after NGC281 because it is well placed and could present data in all my NB and Broadband filters. Over 7 nights I collected a little over 28hrs of data, mostly in H-alpha, SII, OIII @ 55x600s per channel. I collected RGB for stars (25x60s per channel) that I add it via PixelMath in PI.

CC welcomed

Thanks for looking

Very interesting framing. Gotta try that myself one night. Looks like you've got it dial in really well.

Thanks Ross! For sure not the typical framing for this, it is cropped slightly to highlight all the little detail going on inside.
