Hello

Silly question. Has anyone used these knobs? Maybe Bob’s knobs?

This is my first experience with a used Celestron Edge 11. I am in the process of getting it set up, I need to collimate it. I messed with it last weekend by tightening a loosening the black part of the knobs but did not get far. I started thinking the white part is to adjust the mirror and then the black part locks it in. Does anyone know?  Thanks

To my eye, the caps on those thumbscrews look smaller than the ones on my Bob's Knobs. They might be DIY versions?

My guess is that the white bushings are simply standoffs to make the thumbscrew heads easier to get your fingers around.

Clear skies,

Paul

Thats my thought, too...  DIY with white standoffs.

certainly a diy.. but I like that idea the white standoffs should make it easier to reach and manage the knobs.

Curious when you are in process of collimate are all the screws snug or even tight? Meaning they aren’t loose.

So long as they don't protrude beyond the corrector cell.  If they do, make sure you never accidentally set it face down without a lens cap or pop goes the corrector.

All should be snug.  To borrow a phrase from Alex, not wrist crunching tight.
