Sitting out here capturing frames for an animation on that large filament again today, I figured, go ahead and process the full disks so I have more time later!  I'll post the animation later as I'm watching some cirrus clouds accumulate so may be done soon!  That filament/filaprom is finally revealing itself as separate features.  Were they attached at some point, who knows, but now you can clearly see that the filament is fully on the disk (particularly in the full resolution image on AB) and the prom is just now rotating over the limb.  Great time to be watching this big filament to see if we have a dramatic lift off.

Very nice! I noticed the significant activity this morning but the air is really choppy where I am so I didn't even try any photos.

Warren, it looks like (19:40 UT the next day, November 9), that the big filament on the eastern horizon has lifted off and separated from the limb.

Hmm, I'm still seeing all of the large filaments on GONG that were there yesterday.  I did see the detached prom in the NE this morning and that is still there.  Where did you see that it had lifted off?

Your images are real good, comparing them to SHG images. You have a lunt scope that is probably cream of crop with a very small bandpass.

Thanks!  I’ve had a number of people tell me that same thing, starting when I was first imaging with the single stack telling me other than the double limb that it could get close to DS level as to the contrast of the filaments.  It took me a long time before I added the DS unit since I was already happy with the image I was getting with the single etalon.
