Just started capturing frames for an animation and that big filament is in the midst of lifting off if you get a chance to watch.

This appears to be a textbook Disparition Brusque and will take hours to complete.  We’ll see how much of it I can capture before the sun goes behind my chimney!

It appears to be picking up speed now 15:16 UTC

I just watched GONG, the Cerro Tololo site and unbeknownst to me the prom/filaprom on the SE limb is lifting off (actually gone now) at the same exact moment and I it is in my FOV as well.  I’m guessing the two must be magnetically connected

Just saw it (17:30 UT) with my Lunt 60 SS. It has lifted away from the limb and looks largely intact. Thanks for the heads up, Warren!

I had to stop due to clouds and the roof!  Need to take a look at it now.
