Hello all,

So I use a mini windows PC to control my rig. I was wondering if there was a way to automatically transfer my sessions image files from the mini PC to my main PC where I do my processing. I know I could transfer using a USB drive but I am paranoid of multiple migrations. I've had large file transfers corrupted before. I would like A to B from PC to PC.

NINA has a plugin for robocopy. If you're not using NINA, you could probably find and/or write a script to do something similar - take file from mini PC directory, copy to remote directory in real(ish) time.

My rig is linked back to my house (where I have starlink internet) with ubiquiti wifi devices, so I set up my mini pc to save to a folder which is on One Drive.  That way if my house PC is on over night, then the next morning the images are there on a one drive folder ready to go.

There are also a multitude of folder synchronizing desktop apps available that will do the same job for PCs on a common network in which case you don't need anything to be transmitted over the interweb, or in case your data volume is too high for your chosen cloud service.

Here's one example - FreeFileSync

RoboCopy is free and honestly its very easy to setup a script that just runs every hour or so and will copy files IF it sees any changes.

As others have noted, Robocopy and One Drive are my tools of choice.

I run Robocopy during my session which copies the raw subs from my MiniPC to a One Drive folder that is shared to the cloud. My processing PC has that folder set to "always make files available" so they actually download and are available locally when I get up in the morning.

Does anyone do something similar with Google Drive?  (and can provide instructions?)

In that case, can't you just instruct your capture software to save into the shared folder saving a step?  In NINA for example, we can specify any save location.
