I was totally unaware of this event - I was out grabbing some photos of comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS and I looked at my SkySafari app on my I pad and fortuitously saw that the Moon and Saturn were very close. When I finished with the comet I swung my C9 around and grabbed a few quick photos. I'm happy that I didn't miss this event.
The difference in brightness of Saturn and the Moon made it very challenging to find a happy medium between exposure and ISO to capture both with some level of detail - much more challenging than past conjunctions that I have observed with Jupiter or Mars. Here is one of my results - C9 @ f 6.3 - single frame ISO 200 - 1/30 second.
