I have an issue that is quite frankly got me perplexed. I acquired a ZWO 1600MC camera which seems to be in perfect working order. However, when I try to de-Bayer or de-mosaic the subs in Nebulosity, all I get is either a monochrome image OR images with a weird color cast predominantly of one color. When I look at them through a FITS viewer they show up as RGB color images. I suspect the problem is not the camera, but something I am doing or not doing in processing, OR the processing software is not able to handle the subs for some reason because I used an ASI Air to acquire the data. I don't have any problems with my subs from the ZWO 533MM camera, but this is a head scratcher why even the stacked image from live stacking show below turns out better than when I try to use the separate frames. This is an uncalibrated live stack image......

This is what happens when I try to calibrate, align and stack the separate frames in Nebulosity.... I know I am missing something, and I have been trying various settings in the "de-mosaicing" tab of Nebulosity, but nothing yields anything like a normal looking image. I am thinking of trying other processing suites to see if that will solve the problem, or maybe I should just bite the bullet, buy, and learn to use PixInsight.

Yet with the ZWO ASI Studio Deep Sky Stack, I managed to get this image from the very same data.

If you get correct stack with ASI Studio then must be something with Nebulosity (debayering).

I used Nebulosity some 10 years ago. Checked and it was last updated in 2020.

Maybe it's time to move to something newer?

Apart from PI there are other alternatives: Siril, APP, AstroArt to name a few.

Have you tried to explicitly specify alternative Bayer matrix patterns?

Yes, all with terrible results.....

I'm only using it because I was starting out at the time, and it seems to work fine with the subs I get with the ZWO 533MM camera I usually use. But I am starting to work on learning how to use SIRIL because it does do certain tasks better than Nebulosity, such as denoising and removal of color casts.

Strange.

Could you share the problematic file?
I could have a go. I should have Nebulosity somewhere.

I'd have to e-mail them to you....if you figure this out it would help others out with the same issue.

Generally speaking you need to debayer with the correct Bayer pattern and then perform white balancing.  Both steps are required before the image looks "normal".
