Great deals if one is opening a telescope store
However, after seeing Orion go under people might be gun shy to open up a telescope business after seeing Orion go belly up.
All scope comps are going under. It is all priced way too high and peeps have had enough.

Edmund 6" f8 OTA $100
I am leaving in just a bit to go get the one on the mount.
When did edmund make these white as opposed to their red models?

I wouldn't go $150 for the one on that mount. It's not a great mount and the 6" was always a push for it. That is a very light weight mount and the main gear mesh has never been set right on any I've had which is a bunch. I have no interest in that one. Not bad if you can get it for $100. I suppose you will already have it by the time you get this.
I've already been in touch with the person that has the OTA only. They said they would get back to me with more info. My only interest is getting more parts to make the best of the school donor. I sure don't need any more mount stuff. The grey pier mounts with 1" shafts are the way to go.
PM sent too. Things can stay more personal there. I'll stay online.
My guess is that the white is a cross over from when Edmund went from the grey piers to the beige ones. If it is an original factory set up. The white OTA are better than the red newts. See if the white is phenolic or aluminum.

"When did Edmund make these white as opposed to their red models?"
Edmund white scopes were made much earlier than their red models. At least by the 60's.

The whites were on grey 1" shaft mounts all through the 70's. I'm not sure when the beige ones came out with the red tubes, along with the 3000 and 4000 series with the fork mount and splayed legs.
