I pulled out the Starizona .65 reducer and put it on my ASI183 to see what it might do with the Rosette nebula.  I have only used it one time so far. Rosette is not a very bright object so I figured the reducer might help to get a good image in a single night.  I was able to get 147 files x 120s.  I put the reducer on my Esprit 100. It fits inside the tube so it does not create a long image train hanging off the back.  With the reducer the Esprit100 runs at f/3.6 and my image scale is around 1.4. I will try again and next time I will center the shot I think I can get most if not all of it in the frame.  The stars are a little eggy around the edges but you don't really notice unless you closeup.  I separated the stars out to process the nebula and did not run blurx on the stars which I should have it will make them look much better.  I will also get more files.

Update

I finally got another chance at the Rosette and ran for 2 nights.  This time I centered the nebula, captured 291 files x 120s(about twice as many as before), and fixed the stars.

I tried this earlier without the reducer and I can't even come close to this.  We don't get too many clear nights so I have to get everything I want in a night or two and the reducer helps in that regard.
