First, this was not a night of good seeing, and I'm not using the best camera for planetary work.

Still, the screenshot from PIPP shows a pixelated-looking Saturn.  I expect the image in PIPP to be blurry, blurry is fine at this stage. That's what Autostakkart and

Wavlets in Registax are for, buy why is this image not just fuzzy, but more like looking through a screen door?

*This is roughly 50 fps using an ASI 533MCpro.  3-minute video clip taken in Sharpcap.  6" SCT with 2x barlow & UV/IR cut filter.  Gain and exposure level put the histogram at about 75%.  When I took a video of Jupiter a few days earlier and began the processing steps in PIPP, the image looked blurry, but not grainy as this one does.

Any advice is most welcome.

The screen door effect is happening because the video has not yet been debayered (turned from looking monochrome to color). You can debayer the video in Autostakkert by making sure that under "Colour" it is set to "Force bayer RGGB" (the correct option for the 533MC).

Thank you so much!  I can't wait to try this again.

Judging from your post you really need to take an hour to read and digest the FAQ pinned to the top of the forum.

Why wait for next time - just load this video into AS! and if it doesn't appear coloured then do what Winteria has suggested...don't bother with PIPP because it serves no purpose unless you have a lot of split frames with the planet off (or half off) the screen!

I did. Immediately after reading that comment. It did color the image, but it was still just as pixelated.  It didn't change the image other than the color. Must be another issue. I've wondered whether or not PIPP was needed. I see that's it's not. Appreciate the feedback.

I have. I've read it multiple times.  Thanks!

Can you show the result2of AS stack.
Maybe you had wrong debayer setting.

This is what a raw frame from an ASI533MC looks like after being debayered. After being stacked and processed it turns into this.

Is this what yours looks like?
