We got a clear night without howling winds for a change. I got 80 subs of 75 sec on M33.

Taken with SV 80 Access on G11 mount guided with Orion SSAG, Canon 60d.

Processed with DSS, GraXpert, Siril and PS.

Processing galaxies is challenging.

Comments welcome.

Culv has a video that details processing in Pixinsite. I highly recommend watching his video.

Nice. I like the details. You’ve captured the look of this galaxy well.

Only thing I’d say is that the color balance seems on the red side. I’d aim for the galaxy to be basicallly white-ish (with some variation in shades and variation for objects within it, but in overall aspect, it should [imo] look like the combined light from a collection of stars, most of which will appear white). Maybe some faintly reddish hydrogen emission nebulae, and some hot blueish-white large young stars in the arms. But overall, shades of grayish white.

However, other people these days clearly have different ideas than I do on what an image of a galaxy should look like, so please take my opinion only for what it’s worth (i.e., less than 2¢ wink.gif ). If you wanted it to be red and are happy with your result, then that’s all that matters

Nice, but how come you don't stack in Siril?

i use DSS because I know it and it works. I agree, the galaxy seems more red than I like. I guess that is a result of using a modified camera. I am still learning how to use it.

I tweaked the image to get rid of the red per your recommendations. Better?
