Hi guys,

I am helping a friend process his data. We both have the ASI1600MM and for whatever reason, all of his frames (calibration and light frames) show a very distinctive pattern whereas the pixels on mine seem smoother.

Below are two images, both a single light frame using an HA filter (zoomed in a lot to show the pattern). The image on the left is with my friend's camera and the one on the right is from mine.

IMG 2253 (1)

Any idea where this is coming from? It is clearly not a setting issue during calibration or integration since this pattern is showing in the uncalibrated light frames (as well as calibration frames).

Thanks a lot,

Sebastian

I think your friend has a 1600mc, because that looks like a Bayer pattern

try getting your friend's image debayered and see what happens

It’s a mono camera for sure.

If that chequerboard pattern is coming from a mono camera then there's certainly a problem somewhere.  Try connecting your friend's camera to your equipment to see if the problem remains.  If so, then it is a camera problem.

Unfortunately, that’s not an option since we are continents apart. However, I have asked him to start looking at the USB cables and go from there.
