Hello,
Our club is trying to get into asteroid measurement reporting...
What SW do you guys use to do the measurement part (find position of moving object in the image)?
Thanks,
Cyrille

Some useful programs are Tycho Tracker, MPO Canopus, and ASTAP.
If you want something simple to start, and assuming you are observing relatively bright asteroids, Siril can help you as well if you want to do it more manually.

Tycho is my strong recommendation.

Astrometrica and Tycho. I think Astrometrica is the simplest to use but has a very finicky plate solver (but accurate).

Hello,
Thanks, for your help.
I was finally able to use astrometrica...
As you said, it is finicky, but it works and is easy to use...
This is not helped by the fact that I shoot with a scope with a 4800mm FL... None of the SW are designed to work with stars that are 20 or 30 pixel large...
Since I was not able to test Tycho with my dataset, I discarded it from my list...

I am using Astrometrica at 4000mm focal length and it works well but you should use binning if your stars are 30 pixels across. It works better than if you are at say 600mm and very wide field like the RASA, it really struggles on having so many stars.

Hello,
Ho, I am binning 4*4! This reduces the large stars to around 15 pixels...
