Hello, I picked up this telescope recently, and I wanted to see if it was an authentic Dollond London, a replica, or a period knock-off of a Dollond. I looked at several examples of the Dollond London signature and the main thing that stood out to me is the stamped "London." vs. the signed Dollond. I've seen examples of both words stamped or both signed, but never a combination of the two. Additionally the D seems to match several examples, but not all of them as the curl isn't as full in some examples, and the period after the London seems to be a strange touch based off the examples I have seen. Thanks!

welcome.gif norvellgm , looks like there is also a period after Dolland on yours and mine . Further scrutiny reveals a bit more of the swirl on the D . Have little reason to believe mine is real and not a knockoff,  “ but you never know your luck in the big city “ . Bought at an estate auction sale a dozen years ago .  Will follow your thread to see if anything else is discovered.

 Good Luck and Clear Skies

Indeed the case. According to Chris Lord, Benjamin Martin and others made copies and labelled them "Dolland" and "Dolond".
