I have an Orion Skyview pro EQ mount controlled by a SynScan V5 go to hand controller. The hand controller was dropped on a concrete driveway and no longer works. The manufacturer of the Mount, Orion, is now out of business, and I cannot contact them to obtain a replacement. High Point scientific, a distributor, does not have this part in stock, but advised me that they do have a Sky-Watcher SynScan Handbox Controller v5 which will probably work on my mount, but they will not guarantee it and I will have to pay return shipping if it doesn’t work. Has anyone out there used the Sky-Watcher SynScan Handbox hand Controller v5 to control an Orion Skyview pro EQ mount?
Thanks very much.
Joel

The SkyView pro was a Synta manufactured mount and so is the Skywatcher. They are very likely the same controller.

You can also try contacting Skywatcher. They’ll be able to confirm.
