Can't get my chromebook to work with the Seestar S50.  The app installs ond opens on the chromebook OK, and the chromebook shows that it does connect to the Seestar's wifi, but the app just remains at the connect screen.  Any ideas?  My Pixel phone connects and controls the Seestar just fine.

I have not gotten it to work.  I believe it is because the Chromebook operating system is based on linux, not android.  Most android apps are made to install and work fine on Chromebooks, but for some reason the connection part of the Seestar app won't work.  I gave up and am just using my phone to control the Seestar.

Yes, would love to find it if you will be able to successfully run the Seestar App on a Chrome Book.  Would be a cheaper alternative to running on a M series Macbook or Mac mini.

I use a new middle of the road Samsung A9+ tablet with never a problem. You might see if there' a android emulator for your chrome books.

ChromeOS is a Linux-based toy OS for unserious applications. It runs Android apps by having an emulation layer called ARC that pretends to be an Android device. As a result, it's not hard to find Android apps that don't work on ChromeOS. I develop Android software for a living and we've learned over the years to refuse to support our app running on Chrome devices. It saves us and our users a lot of frustration.

Your Pixel phone is an Android device and should run Android apps, as you've discovered

Mostly right about the Android compatibility layer, but mostly wrong about Chrome OS.

I've fooled with Chrome Books a few times but didn't see anything it did that compelled me to getting one. The Samsung tablet I mention in the above post is an outstanding value for the price of 200 or less on sale. They both have have their pros and cons. You've found a con.

ChromeOS is like trying to compute with half your brain tied behind your back.
