I have three identical 90 ETX OTA's. They are great little scopes, and they are very cheap. I do not use the original plastic fork and base, I use the OTA on nice , altaz mounts like the unitron 114 altaz. These little OTA's are so good, I have three in case one gets damaged, or maybe walks away.

I have two too many Unitron 114's.  ~55-56, ~58-59, and ~59-65

Good question

I have 2 complete sets of 1.25" Meade 4000 Plossls for binoviewing.

Somehow I ended up with 2 Meade 26mm QX eyepieces. One is going to a newbie.

I think I would be like Buridan's ****(donkey) - unable to choose between 2 hay bales, and so starving in place.

I would have no problem cannibalizing one scope to perfect another of the same make/model.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I have three Dynamax 8", though one is a B&L.

Lol, no, I have not acquired backup contingency scopes. I’m not saying I don’t endorse such an approach.

I had 3 Super Polaris mounts until I let one go, do just mounts count?  Will probably give a 2nd one away soon.

Anything duplicated

There is purposeful duplication - backup - and indulgent duplication :) Both of which are fine, just saying :)

"I have 4 sets of eyepieces and 2 identical binoviewers." This need an intervention.

I accidentally wound up with two Meade 2080's - one an LX3 from 1985 and the other an LX from 1991 (note: I swapped out the original LX forks and base for that from an LX6/Premier. The LX3 is on the EQ5 mount).

Twin Cats

And over the years, I have owned three identical NewStar 70mm f/10 scopes from Efston Science in Toronto. Just not all at the same time. I must have a real attraction to that particular scope. Think I'll go buy another one...!

I own 3 black tube Celestron / Vixen c80s, along with 2 Polaris mounts and two SPs... though now 2 are on long-term loan to friends and family.. the one I have currently and the polaris it's married to are basically pristine.

And you know what? Id probably buy another if if was in great condition and priced right..

We (as in my old man mostly) have in our garage and all over the house, two or three Jeagers 6" f/15 refactors, at least 4x Edmund Palomar Junior 4-1/4" f/10 reflectors, 3x(?) Edmund Deluxe Space Conqueror 6" f/8 reflectors, 5x(?) Criterion RV-6 6" f/8 reflectors and 3x Aero-Tessar lens RFTs.

Those are the multiples of which I am aware. I'm still not certain of the singles which also includes a bunch of vintage  Japanese telescopes ranging from Lafayette to Sears to ATCO to I don't know what! confused1.gif  bangbang.gif

Maybe some day I will get everything set up and take photos of it all. Maybe. grin.gif

Anyone care to beat that load? grin.gif

For my own use, no. For student use, see my signature (although I'm starting to downsize that set).

Ed Ting said he hated the ETX - after owning like 8 of them :)

Through a mix of rescues, bargains too good to pass up, curiosity, and at least one interesting case of a mislabeled case, I ended up with several multiple sets. The Plan is to give some away and return others to the wild, but not before I have a chance to spend some meaningful time with each and every one of them. I spent much of the last 20 years of my career building my inventory preparing for retirement. Now that time is finally here, I’m in no hurry to let any of them go. Each one was acquired for a reason, and those reasons have not gone away. Each time I look at them, they make me smile. :)

Priceless.

Enjoy the little things.

Not terribly old, but out of manufacture:

Two Vixen ED130ss

A Vixen VSD100 and a Pentax 100SDUF (they are fraternal twins)

And full on classics, two Vixen FL80s.

I kinda like me a Vixen...Kitfox, after all! lol.gif  I have a hard time resisting them, even an occasional duplicate!  Mrs. Kitfox does remain my favorite Vixen, and she is solo and unique! flowerred.gif

I'm further embarrassed to say that I've only looked through one of them, and then, only on two occasions.  I bought the first two from Chuck Hards several years ago, planning to refigure one of them.  The first was a complete table-top legged unit.  It's fine for deep sky, and okay on Jupiter.  Best thing about it (and them) is the mechanics are nice.  I find the focus to be smoother than the Celestron or Meade SCTs I've owned.  The second is incomplete, but could be set up for use without too much trouble.  The B&L is complete, including the Golden Pyramid tripod.  I've never looked through it.  Bought it because it was nearby and cheap.
