I recently bought the iOptron CEM70 w/iPolar, but having issues with using the ipolar to connect to the software. I'm using  iOptron iPolar.exe, but when I try to connect to the camera, I get this error message>>> Camera failed to connect System.OperationCanceledException: Failed to init camera at iOptron iPolar!<BaseAddress>+0x4c615.

The camera is detected by Windows and in device manager iOptron iPolar 1.1. I can get iOptron Commander 9.14 to work and it recognizes the CEM70 mount. I'm just having issues with iPolar.

Can anyone offer any assistance on getting this to work, or suggest what I may be missing in the process?

Welcome to CN! Your source for astro-headache palliatives. smile.png

I don't have the answer to your connection problems since I don't use my CEM iPolar.

But since you're relatively new I will suggest something that I wish I'd heard of earlier:

SharpCap Pro - the PA program is superb if you can see within ≈ 4° of North Celestial North Pole (Polaris) If you can connect to the CEM70 with a laptop at the tripod/pier error can be repeatably reduced to arc seconds (seeing dependent) and done in minutes.

For ≈ 4¢/day it's a very handy program. Does many things...sensor analysis, etc.

You've checked off all I can think of, especially with Commander running. I've found iOptron help to be excellent...email or call, if a fellow CN doesn't provide a answer sooner.

Again, Welcome.

EDIT: I've had iOptron respond to an email at the scope at 2AM with a solution!  After thanking him I asked how I got the email at 2AM. He reminded me that THEY are astronomers too. smile.png

Right after posting I decided to RTFM and discovered that in windows you need to 'allow apps to access your camera'. Left the thread there in case some other moron like myself can't figure it out.
