I am trying to find the ascom driver for my Nikon D7200 DSLR camera. I have gone to github where the ascom platform site said all drivers are now kept but I have to be honest, I don't know what to download. Most of what I see is 5 years old and looks like programming code. I'm a little computer illiterate if I'm being 100. I'm a 54 year old disabled Veteran just starting on this hobby. I apologize if this topic has already been started, I couldn't find it. I have been leery of asking anything on here as the attitude of some gave me a bad taste so please if you're coming in with attitude, keep it to yourself. Im trying to learn. Thank you in advance for any and all help/advice that's given. I really appreciate the willingness of some to share their knowledge in a kind, understanding way.

Thank you for the help but I gotta reiterate I'm just a little computer illiterate, do I just download the *.exe file you gave me the link to and then run it or is there more to it.  I get that there are some settings that need configuring but in that post the author said to run the test first but I don't see a test file to download. is it contained in that exe file? yes I read the post and it said its supposed to be there. I have to be honest I am a little scared to download and run a file from an unknown source I don't know. lol  but after I run the exe file and find and run the test file then what do I do?  I need the driver so I can use my Nikon D7200 with SharpCap and I don't suppose you have any experience with all that that you can kinda walk me thru???

The test file is installed with the driver setup.  You run this per the directions in the post i mentioned, after you install the program and before you use it to run your session.  This will let you setup the camera settings for your camera.

I've run this on two of my own machines and i do PC support for a living and security is kind of a hot button point for me so you can bet i have my computer protected 7 ways from Sunday. I have had no issues with the application whatsoever.  I've used it in SharpCap Pro since the camera cant be used otherwise and it works well.  Live view mode on my Canon is a little weird and i usually turn this off as he directed.  It prevents me from taking normal photos as the shutter is constantly going on and off while it is turned on in SharpCap. Turn off SharpCap Live view and everything works normally.

Oh and reading the third page of the link i provided it shows the tester they are referring to is the ASCOM bundled tester which is accessible from the start menu under ASCOM.  Its called ASCOM Diagnostics.
