How much, ad details?  A lot of us don't do AM.  The OTA is good, the mount is good, the OTA is too much for the mount.

There is another MRG mount and a large OTA  in the background, right side.

It's in New York, it's $1000.

I have an AM account but AM is pretty slow these days.  I forgot my password....

So when I looked at the ad about a week ago, and looked at the picture of the inside of the OTA (some of the pics that were posted are no longer there), you could see a "sonotube" seam running circularly around the inside.

The Meade Research Grades had aluminum tubing with maybe a single weld seam that was parallel to the tube axis.

I would be carful and request a picture of the inside of the tube before buying.

Meade RG's were neither aluminum or fiberglass. They were basically very dense Sonotubes with a shiny resin/epoxy like coating.

The point being, an interior spiral is to be expected

1k is a steal.  But ouch on my back and would need a AP1200 for it. Never seen a bad Meade mirror yet at F/6.

That is the Meade Fiberlight tube. Man would we die today if they still made them tubes. Half the weight of a Parks but not as strong as i broke a Meade tube once.

Ask Herb.

Hard to believe Herb is still working.  What happened to your AM account? Looks like it's gone.

I have never once thought of using a telescope like a chair. But if I did, I would very much not grab the focuser.

Meade RG's had aluminum end rings, but not aluminum tubes..

The tubes were a gel coated fiber-lite (phenolic) tube..

Not using like a chair blare. I was working on it and i got up and used the focuser to help me get up.  I got a Parks tube and the OD was the same and here it is as a finder on my 12.5" F/7.5
