Is it possible to load the See Star App on a laptop? The biggest reason I'd like to do it is to share the EAA experience on a larger screen. Any other avenues to get the same end reuslt Using a See Star 50.

Some folks have had luck using an Android emulator on a laptop, but I haven't tried it. At one point I remember that folks that used this approach had difficulty with the initial setup, but after setting it up with their phone were able to use a laptop afterward.

But no guarantees.

Google: "Android emulators for Windows" There are several, some better than others. You might take a look at a Chromebook: https://www.google.com/chromebook/ People have had varying degrees of success. Google "SeeStar app on chromebook". I tested the app on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series tablet as it runs Android natively and they have up to 14" screens. Cheers.

Also, most people will have their own phone or tablet, and with a shared password your phone is the master controller and some number of phones are passive repeaters (limit 7 or 8?). You would want to change the password after each public session.

To expand on josjavpol's answer, the iOS version of the Seestar app runs natively on Apple Silicon-based Macs. I run my S50 exclusively from an M1 Mac Mini. In that environment you can drag the right edge of the app window and "rotate" it to landscape. Then do screen mirroring with your TV or a big monitor.

Yes, like CraigR mentioned above, you can control the Seestar exactly as you would from an iPhone on a Mac computer with any of the M series chip sets that Apple released in 2020.  Starting with the M1.  I have an M2 Mac mini connected to my S50 at Star Front Remote Observatories since August of 2024.

In station mode, connect the Seestar and your managing device to your wifi network, then screencast/mirror from the managing device to a Smart TV on that network.  You can probably get a 40" FireTV for about a hundred bucks on Prime day next month.
