Do you think it is a nice process or too expensive?

Thanks

Looks like a Lafayette Galactic. It should be worth $170.

Is there a maker's mark on the badge?

Yeah, I could tell from the finder's mount, it's definetely a SYW, as most Perls are. They are generally good scopes.  If it's in good condition with the box and all the accessories, that's a very fair price.

Looks like a Lafayette Galactic.

Not really; many differences, the biggest being the massive finder with dedicated mini-R&P focuser that comes on the Galactic.

If the optics are clear and clean, $200 is not unreasonable. SYW scopes are generally in the top class of classic refractors.

IME, the Yamamoto's have the same consistent quality as ASTRO.  (Should've kept that Mayflower 815.)

Hi,

As you certainly know, Perl is Medas's brand (Medas from Vichy).

Have you ever thought asking members of Webastro (our "Classic telescopes"/ https://www.webastro...ge/?do=overview ) about this refractor?

Perhaps one of them has or had it and can tell you how much a reasonable price would be.

Alain.

My Sears 6344 76mm x 1200mm was a great scope!
