Not a chance jack. Look at the tube color on the guide scope vs the rest at best.  Newer guide scope as the tube is not yellowed.

Individual items yellow at different rates. All three tubes of my 6345 - main scope, 40mm side scope, 5x24 finder all are in differing degrees of shade aging.

Dave Trott has a couple of very rare and interesting classic/vintage scopes for sale today in the CN classifieds, one German (Busch) and the other Japanese (Vixen).

This is the Ozuma. Same mount as the A80m "custom" which was also known as the C80 Firstscope. What a strange bird!

The 142 U is a  miss match on the guide scope but would make a nice scope to look at and never use.  The C14 i would jump on all day long if freaky sharp and complete pete.

That C-14 has been for sale for several YEARS.

These are fine eyepieces. I have a 30 mm and a 35 mm and they’ve been keepers for many years.

Ya it all pretty much matches but the Guide scope looks newer as it is whiter. I already said something nice slice. Said i would jump. As i would pay 2k for a 100% complete PARTS matching pre 1965 3" U . Has to all be the real deal with no miss matching parts from diff years. Make a nice display scope to look at.

Says who and so what? It's a full assembly that works! Big bloody deal if a few parts come from different production runs! It's not a bloody Trailer Queen Show Car at Barrett-Jackson for crying out loud! This totally qualifies for referencing Shakespeare's title of "MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING!"

Let the fur begin do fly! BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

according to you nothing ever  pops up near you, but somehow you keep getting scopes.   Must be some kind of miracle.

About the Unitron 142. Besides the focuser attaching screws that was pointed out, the guide scope has metal knobs on it's focuser which usually means it's from about '56 and earlier. The Italicized Type on the focuser usually means it's a bit later (about '58), which adds to the confusion.  BTW, If the drawtube wasn't covered by the clamp it would show if it has the T slot or the U shaped cutout. In anycase, my guess is that the guide scope is older than the rest of the scope and has been repainted.

Given how Unitron mixed and matched things. not really that surprising.

Seller is about $300 higher than that scope is worth even with the elusive Polaris polar finderscope.

Interesting, that there is a bracket to hold a 128 clock drive.

Any one care to guess what this "Vintage Telescope" is on GW? The tripod is unique in that the 2 outer wooden pieces on each leg are clad in black wrinkle painted metal. Interesting ALT/AZ mount too. Appears to have an eyepiece with a draw tube focuser?

It's a 1950s Japanese one. Selsi, Lafayette, SPI, etc. These were the cheaper ones sold from the mail order catalogs like Sears Roebuck and Lafayette Radio.

Another Unitron on GW! With wooden box, 90° diagonal, erect image porro prism, 4 eyepieces and what looks like a barlow? Pretty bad condition...

The accessories are Unitron, but the scope looks like it's by Towa.
