For anyone familiar with his article, " The Best Telephoto Lenses for Astrophotography", Rudy picked a 135mm, a 200mm and and a 300mm lens.  In the spirit of those classic vintage lenses, what do you think Rudy would pick for an 85mm lens for astrophotography?

Never as of yet tried it for astro, but an 85mm f/2 Ai Nikkor might be pretty good, stopped down at least a stop. I'll have to try mine out one of these days.

If you consider getting one of these, buy them from a Japanese seller. I have no idea what the Japanese actually do with their gear, but you'd swear they never use it. Every lens I've purchase from a Japanese seller has been immaculate.
