From my limited experience, the surface of the sun changes very quickly, much faster than other celestial targets. So this creates a problem (at least for me).
1. When I observe an important event starts with the eyepiece, in order to shoot it, I need to remove the eyepiece, install and adjust the camera. But when the camera is adjusted, the solar event has ended.
2. When I install the Barlow lens to take a close-up of a certain position on the surface of the sun, I don’t know if there are events in other parts of the sun. I need to remove the Barlow lens, refocus and adjust the camera parameters to see the overall surface of the sun again. The reason why I don’t adjust the position of the sun is that I don’t want to move the sun out of the sweet spot.
So I want to know if there is a device similar to the movable reflector in SLR cameras that can choose to direct light to the eyepiece or camera without change existing setup. I heard that some regular telescopes have this function, but I don’t know if there is a stand-alone device. Or there is other simper solution but I don't know?
(Please forgive my English)
