I need to start off by writing that I'm being a bit lazy here.  When I did a Google search for Astronomy Podcast way more podcasts showed up than I expected (23 Astronomy based podcasts).

So I'm looking for your thoughts here.

Question:  Is there an Astronomy Podcast that is mostly interview style (akin to a Joe Rogan-ish style)?

There are so many incredibly knowledgeable folks, business leaders, inventors, etc..   Would be pretty cool to hear their thoughts on where things are heading both in amateur and professional astronomy, advances, and trends with equipment,  business forecasting, etc..

So less about what is in the night sky and how to see it (seems like there are some very well liked podcasts in that area already), more about the technical and business side of things.

If you've found something like this, and wouldn't mind sharing, I'd be sincerely appreciative.  Or if you know a thread that already covers this, and wouldn't mind pointing a blind searcher in that direction, that would be great.

Clear Skies!

Side note: I just finished reading through a search of threads in this Beginners Forum on podcasts to see if this has been asked, and didn't find the answer (may just be poor "search-fu" on my part).

Well, clearly things are headed towards EAA. There has been a relative explosion of smart telescopes and smart eyepieces in recent years. Televue is about to make a major product announcement in a couple days, and there is speculation it might be a smart eyepiece, given these recent advances would seem to threaten their business model.

I learned this search engine trick from other members. Simply use the power of Google to help you. In the Google search bar type "Website: cloudy nights, astronomy podcasts". That will bring up all of the C/N threads on that subject.

Best of luck to you! borg.gif

Tele Vue announced the long eye relief Nagler 7 eyepiece so there's no smart eyepiece with green lettering for the time being. wink.gif

Even better, because it searches within threads for the desired content, is:

xxxxx site:cloudynights.com

where you replace xxxxx with your search terms.

The Actual Astronomy Podcast is my current and probably all time favorite. Not all of the shows are interview format, but they do have some great ones with interviews. In addition to a weekly Podcast, you also have access to several years of archived shows.

(I primarily use Apple Podcasts on mobile because I enjoy listening to the shows while driving to work, but they are also on YouTube).
