Hi All,

I have a Binotron and am thinking of buying a pair of 24mm Panoptics for them. But my IPD is only 57mm and I want to be somewhat sure I can get my nose in there. Can anyone with 24 Pans do a quick measurement for me to see if 57mm gives me room for the snout?

Much appreciated.

All the TV ep specs including physical dimensions can be found here: https://www.televue....page.asp?id=214

That sites says 24 Pano diameter at widest point = 1.9", if I'm reading it right (item D under Eyepiece Dimensions).

Half that = 0.95" = 24.13mm for the radius from center to edge. Between two of those, that would leave 57mm - (24.13 x 2) = 8.74 mm for your nozzle.

Clear skies,

Paul

Go to Televue website and look at their eyepiece specification sheet.  24 panoptic OD is 1.9 inches.  So if they touch the min eyepiece IPD is 48mm.  The eye relief is 15 mm.   How wide is your snout at dimension of ~15mm or less from your eyes?

Knowing how your nose fits with your existing eyepieces, and the aforementioned, should give you a good idea if 24 panoptics will work for you.   If I had a pair of 24mm panoptics and clear night skies, I'd provide you comments on how they work for me.   My IPD is slightly smaller than 57mm and I use all Delites with my BT100.

I use 24 Panos in my Denkmeier binoviewer and have a bit of room to spare for my nose between them.

Out of curiosity, I checked my most recent eyeglasses rx, and apparently my IP is 58mm.

Hope this help.

I should be good to go. Thanks Tom and Paul.

I have a thin nose plus Paul's response says he's got a similar IPD and the 24's work for him.
