hi all. I’m hoping this is the correct sub forum For this topic, but I like to know what would be the optical train used for a celestron 8SE with a 0.63 focal reducer and trying to add a 21 mm filter drawer. If there is a simple way without crazy adapters and ring threads. Lol I have a 2 inch Visual back that has compression ring at one end. I’m using a 2 inch SV bony diagonal, which can use both 2 inch and one and a quarter eye pieces. I want to add an SV bony Filter drawer in this path. I have the understanding thatcloser to an eye piece or camera is recommended but I do not know if it’s essential. Just want to know is there more than one way Of arrangement without using magic. I Have multiple adapters in multiple millimeters and step up and step down rings But I don’t wanna have to write this down To remember every time I set it up again. That’s all I have! :-)…… Thanks for your attention and helping in advance. Oh, one more thing is Their differences in setting up for visual versus SV305 camera

Optic train for filter drawer.

This is nearly the exact setup I put together a short time ago - and for two different diagonals.
All you need to do this is to reverse the filter drawer housing and place it between the scope side of the diagonal and your nosepiece. You then simply need the proper thread adapter ring to match your diagonal's nosepiece thread, and a nosepiece that matches the drawer's female M48 port on the other side.
Here's how I did it:
1) Right out of the box, I realized that the included M48-T2 adapter ring would allow me to use my 2" T2 nose in the female M48 port of the filter drawer. You can also simply use a nosepiece with an M48 thread.
2) This leaves the male T2 port to screw into your diagonal in place of its nosepiece. All you need is a single adapter ring to step up to this T2 thread to your diagonal's thread. In my case, my 2" diagonal (APM 2" prism) has a 2" SCT nosepiece thread. I simply added a T2-SCT adapter ring ($10) to the filter drawer, and it screwed right into the diagonal.
I can also now use this same filter drawer/nosepiece directly in my smaller Baader T2 diagonal. Unscrew it from the 2" diagonal, remove the adapter ring, and thread it into its T2 nosepiece hole. Pretty cool - a visual filter drawer that instantly adapts to both my 2" and 1.25" diagonals - and to any T2 threaded device - for the cost of a single cheap adapter ring.

Wow that’s terrific thank you !!! If I’m understanding u correctly everything is done on scope side of diagonal putting reversed focal drawer between nosepiece and diagonal mirror housing using the modifications of ring and adapter.( ring on nosepiece side and adapter on housing side of drawer) . If I am incorrect please go back and give a photo if possible showing optic train thanks again PJBilotta Seems?simple enough lol. What I was looking for !!!

Update: checked my diagonal nosepiece and it already is a fit with M 48 on filter drawer . My included adapter ring perfect for the other side M42 / M 48 as well. Great stuff thanks again.
