Some recent images posted have exceeded the size limits at Cloudy Nights for images. Any image that comes up when a member opens your post that is larger than 500kB and/or 1600px by 1200px is in violation of the Terms of Service you agreed to when you signed up. Both  of the preceding values must not be exceeded. If you want to add a larger image simply add a link, but you cannot have that much larger image coming up as the post opens. Thank You.

I have been removing excessively large image post.

I'm old enough to remember 160 kB floppy drives and 300 baud modems.

Now I have a laptop with dual 2TB NVME and a desktop with 28 TB local and a 4 TB file server in the basement just for moving files between computers.

The point is, old and outdated storage limits are, old and outdated.  My 5 year old DSLR cranks 10 MB jpgs all day long.

500 kB pictures are standard for 20 years ago.

I agree that sub 500k image posts can be a bit cumbersome, but two points:

1. Cloudy Nights is a free website with no fees, and still an amazing website at that.

2. Consider the storage needs (Cloudy Nights web servers) with potentially hundreds of thousands or millions of images over the decades. Quite a feat.

Clear skies.
