In my 65 years of life I have never seen anything like this!
This is facing due south from my apartment building in Las Vegas, NV.
Is this just a HUGE con trail?
I thought I was seeing UFO!

Definitely rocket exhaust as AstroJensen said. Specifically from this launch. https://nextspacefli...es/details/7761

It is a UFO if you can't identify it, right?  :)   That's a SpaceX rocket.

Gosh, arent those parked cars beautifully well illuminated? Hopefully its just the long exposure.

Rocket launch. I lived near Cape Canaveral for many many years, very common site for a just before sunrise launch. Rocket exhaust is back lit from the sun, think reflection nebula. You didn't mention what time you took the pic, but I'm guessing it is just after sunset since it's the west coast.

There are lights in the roof above the cars. You can see the shadow of the pillow on the central car.

Nice shot! The way it is placed so low over an "everyday" sort of background increases it's unearthly quality. It's like something from a sci-fi movie. Thanks for sharing this!
