Hi all,

I'm looking for suggestions for a 16" primary for deep sky imaging. I don't have a clear budget or focal ratio set yet, so am open to look at some different options.

Thank you,

Julian

Julian- are you asking:
-where best to get such a mirror
-how to build a scope around it
-advantages and disadvantages to F ratios

Be more explicit- what are you looking for?

Sorry for the lack of specificity. I'm looking for where to get such a mirror that is of an "imaging standard." What determines a mirror is suitable for imaging versus visual, and which companies would you recommend?

I've taken a look at the following, among others.

16" from Orion Optics UK:

https://www.teleskop...-8-lambda-18014

16" from Teleskop Service:

https://www.teleskop...nical-back-9917

16" Plate/Pyrex from Hubble Optics:

https://hubble-optics.com/mirrors.html

16" from Zambuto

https://zambutomirro...om/mirrors.html

My question is where you would advise purchasing one from for the purpose of imaging, and from there I hope to move to designing the scope around it. I mentioned the f ratio as I don't have a strict preference.

Thank you,

Julian
