Hello Cloudynight fan
As not often, the planet of love reaches her highest brilliancy the exact day of Saint Valentine.
I like to see this luminous planet during the daylight.
That was not a big deal to detect Venus naked eye during the afternoon, I just have to hide the sunny light behind a village wall.
With a 10x50 binocular a very small crescent was easy to observe.
All followed images were taken during Feb 14.
Here Venus as visible naked eye at 3PM local time (2PM UTC). Do you see Venus ?
Here, Feb 14th, 2PM Local time the images as directly sketched trough a 13mm Ethos eyepiece.
I tried the following filters, #23A Red, #47 Violet but without good contrasts. The sky quality was so-so, really not perfect.
But the # (no filter), #21 Orange and #80A Blue, gives interesting contrasts and similarities.
Why did I choose Orange? Because this color is the complementary color (on the color wheel) of the blue color of the sky.
Here a watercolor view of the planet trough a 26mm eyepiece.
It’s not impossible to try this exercise in the comming days, if your weather is not too bad.
