Hello everyone -

I have a 2" Explore Scientific diagonal (https://www.explores...ries/products/a), and recently purchased this SCT adapter (https://www.amazon.com/Astromania-SCT-Adapter-Diagonals-Push/dp/B01M5BQAC5?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A35QEQK7X2VZX7&gQT=1)

I was expecting that I could unscrew the standard nosepiece from the ES diagonal, and screw in the Astromania adapter to use w/ my 8SE.

But, the threads are different. The Astromania adapter has 48Mx0.75 male threads on the "diagonal" side.  The nosepiece on from the ES diagonal is a bit smaller; reading 46mm on my calipers.  So I think I am trying to find an adapter that would have M46 Male threads x M48 female threads, but seem to be having a hard time finding anything. Any suggestions or help?

Plan B, I think, would just be to buy one of these: https://www.highpoin...AiABEgIvHfD_BwE

I would be kind of surprised if your diagonal does have M46 threads. That's a somewhat rare thread to find outside of camera lenses. If you do really need that size, I believe this adapter would work for you. It would accept the male M48 and give you male M46 threading with very little change in length.

Are you sure its not M42 thread instead? That's far more common in astronomy then M46. If so, many adapters are available for M42-M48 in any length you need.

I used "plan B" on my C6 and it works great however. My diagonal nosepiece has no threads like yours.

This just replaces the stock visual back, and I would use the standard nosepiece, correct?

That is correct. The click-lock is awesome but it gets expensive because once you have 1, you want 2.

Yes, I have the same ES diagonal. This Baader Click-Lock replaces the Celestron provided "visual back" that came with your scope. The ES diagonal fits directly into the Click-Lock without unscrewing/modifying anything.
