Can ASIAir be used without a mount connected to it? I have never used one and don't own one yet, so unable to test it myself.

Use case: control a second camera & EAF attached to a small scope (FMA180 for example). This will be mounted on my primary rig that I control using TheSkyX and Sequence Generator Pro. I understand I'll lose some subs when the primary rig is dithering or slewing, and that's OK with me.

Yes, totally possible. I regularly use an air connected to just a camera on a star tracker. Or controlling a camera and OTA piggy backed on my main rig. Or an air and just a camera shooting dark frames in the fridge!

Can SGP run 2 instances and synchronise the capture between them, that way you won't lose any subs?

FWIW, if you feel like learning NINA, I'm pretty sure it has a plugin that can do this.

Thank you! I totally forgot about calibration frames. Of course, any system should allow just the use of camera to take calibration subs!

SGP can run two instances but last I checked there's no sync between the two. I have been using my primary rig for years now without any changes, so SGP has become pretty much fire-n-forget. If I ever get serious about multi-scope imaging I'll look into NINA or Voyager etc. Right now it's just a fun experiment.
