Has anyone done a DIY version of this? I would buy one but I'm such a cheapskate I'd rather make one myself. I figure it can be done with either aluminum or steel flat bar easily enough, but wanted to see if this has been done already by someone.

I had similar thoughts but its a lot of metal cutting and some bending. I do not have the tools.

I'm not much on metalworking but I have a bandsaw and a grinder. I figure between the two I could get one made.

I had to Google "Kokusai Kohki Guide Handle" - it looks like a modified "Meat Whacker" I use in my kitchen.
