Despite the cold, I set up my 6" f/7.9 Apertura AD6 Dob in my front yard to observe the transit.  However, the seeing was not very good and I was never able to see the not-so-great Great Red Spot.  I used magnifications of 150 (8mm Tele Vue Delos), 171 (7mm Pentax XW), and 200x (6mm Tele Vue Delos). I also employed a Baader Moon & Skyglow filter and later a Wratten #80A blue filter but neither filter revealed the GRS.

Thanks, I accidentally caught it a few nights ago while testing a new diagonal. Always a surprise.

I am shocked at how faded it's become.

Here's a screen shot from Stellarium showing the position of the GRS at 10:15 p.m. EST.

Io and Europa were close together at that time.

Here's a Seestar S50 image that I captured around the time of the GRS transit.
