A number of Galilean satellite events will take place throughout Friday night and Saturday morning.

Saturday, February 22, 2025

01:38 UT, Ganymede exits occultation behind Jupiter.
04:24 UT, Ganymede enters eclipse by Jupiter's shadow.
05:10 UT, Europa begins transit of Jupiter.
07:04 UT, Ganymede exits eclipse by Jupiter's shadow.
07:42 UT, Europa ends transit of Jupiter.
07:42 UT, Europa's shadow begins to cross Jupiter.
08:08 UT, Io enters occultation behind Jupiter.
10:22 UT, Europa's shadow leaves Jupiter's disk.
11:42 UT, Io exits eclipse by Jupiter's shadow.

Thank you for sharing, Dave.  Your dedication to helping the community actually experience these events is noted and very much appreciated.  If the clouds move out I'm planning to take a scope out tonight just to see these transits.

BTW, the GRS will transit Jupiter's CM tonight at 11:58 EST.

I was out observing Jupiter last night.  The seeing was better than expected.  But I had to content myself with some early views, including the egress of Ganymede.  It was too cold and windy, and I was too tired for midnight!
